They analyze health care data.
Perhaps they look and ‘analyze’ the health statistics of a certain company or organization. Perhaps a major in public health (may need master’s), computer science or health information (used to be referred to as ‘medical records) administration can help one to gain employment.
It sounds obvious but a health data analyst analyzes health data. At a hospital this might include things like environmental studies: analyzing the hospital’s market share in certain areas of population for certain types of procedures.
Other health data analysts might study trends in medical care. When certain criteria are recommended to care for patients like antibiotics being stopped within a specific number of hours after surgery, how frequently is that criteria met? Does timing of starting/timing antibiotics have an affect on infection rates?
How often do patients with heart attacks receive aspirin within an hour of reaching the emergency department?
Lots of research
